History

Gracepoint Church is part of a larger group of churches in a Christian denomination called the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA). The PCA was formed in 1973 in response to the growing liberalism in the Presbyterian Church USA. The PCA was begun with a resolute commitment to uphold and promote the Reformed Faith. The form of theology to which the PCA subscribes can be found in the Westminster Standards (Confession of Faith, Larger and Shorter catechisms), which is an excellent summary of the teachings of Holy Scripture. The form of church government to which the PCA subscribes can be found in the PCA Book of Church Order. All of the above documents, in addition to many other helpful documents, can be found on the PCA website (www.pcanet.org).

Gracepoint Church (formerly Grace Covenant Fellowship) was birthed from Korean United Church some 20+ years ago. Starting off as a fellowship in the larger Korean structure, Grace Covenant Fellowship has gone through changes of leadership and vision, yet God has allowed for His bride to stand today.

In September of 2006, the church felt a need for GCF to become an independent ministry in order for it to develop and mature as a body of Christ. This vision matched a vision in place by KUC and GCF’s pastoral search committee and a match was made. Since its release as a mission work of the Philadelphia presbytery in February of 2007, Gracepoint Church is in the process of developing as a particular church to expand God’s Kingdom in the greater Philadelphia area. With the ordination of their first elders, Gracepoint became particularized in February 27, 2011.
